Eric Betz is a Senior Vice President and Development Manager at Mott MacDonald, based in Iselin, New Jersey. He joined Mott MacDonald in October 1994. As Northeast US Development Manager, Betz works closely with Mott MacDonald’s Regional General Manager to develop business strategy, the multi-year business plans, and focused action plans to enable us to achieve goals and objectives. In addition to his regional focus (ranging from Boston, MA to Washington DC, Chicago, IL to Pittsburgh & Philadelphia, PA, Cleveland OH, and with particular focus in the NY/NJ region), Betz works across the firm’s North and South America (NASA) business unit on major pursuits and strategic initiatives both internal and external in collaboration with our regional and global development managers, sector and practice leaders, and commercial managers, marketing teams and account leaders. The business of Mott MacDonald has grown significantly over the nearly three decades Betz has been with the firm, which is in-part due to keen focus on client engagement and customer satisfaction, delivering excellence and embracing technology and digital innovation. Mott MacDonald cares not only about delivering exceptional infrastructure projects but also on those that are sustainable, resilient, consider the environment and SDGs, and benefit the social outcomes for clients, their communities, and staff.
His technical background in Civil and Environmental Engineering and three decades of project experience in the areas of water and transportation, as well as a variety of specialty project experience serving local, county and state governments, institutes for higher education, utility authorities, transportation authorities as well as private-sector clients is valuable to his Development Manager role. He was responsible for managing the Freehold, Cape May Court House, Morris Township (NJ) Offices. Additionally, Betz managed the firm’s Coastal Resiliency initiative for the Northeast region of the US. His background is in planning, design, permitting, procurement and construction engineering services for infrastructure projects that include but are not limited to water, wastewater, stormwater, coastal infrastructure, transportation, parks & recreation, environmental, and a variety of specialty projects which are typically required by municipalities, counties, state agencies, colleges & universities, utility authorities, transportation authorities, as well as private sector clients.
