Topic: How Do We Properly Bounce Back?
Reflections on Climate Change Impacts, Infrastructure, and Equity

The year 2020 was to be the beginning of the decade of action. There was significant momentum in multiple sectors that was driving a sea change to: 1) reduce climate change impacts through investments of monetized benefits, 2) provide economic opportunities by connecting communities through billion-dollar infrastructure projects, and 3) increase community resiliency through new innovative programs focusing on equity. These all suddenly changed this past winter.

This lecture will focus on outlining the sustainability and resiliency vision of the second-largest transportation agency in the US in the 16th largest global economy to meet the complicated demands of a changed world.
