Brennan Gilbane Koch

Brennan is a fifth generation family member, focused on Gilbane’s steadfast commitment to client satisfaction through her work. She is a key promoter of the company’s dedication to creating customers for life and is active in making sure that client satisfaction results are communicated, while using them in a way to constantly improve the firm’s business practices across all Global projects and how Gilbane is impacting the industry it services. An educator by training, she is also focused on internal engagement through building internal promoters as part of the external promoter strategy. By using various tools to measure and gauge employee positioning and engagement, Brennan is able to implement actions to improve the employee environment and build positive connections with the company, its culture and its brand.

Brennan’s passion also extends to helping advance the careers of women at Gilbane and in the construction industry. Brennan is a member of the leadership team for Gilbane’s Advancing
Women committee as well as the New York City Women’s Peer Group. Both of these support women’s professional development, career advancement and peer-to-peer engagement. Brennan’s championship of these efforts has resulted in several innovative initiatives including the Gilbane Executive Exchange, Advancing Women Steering Team, and the IDEA (Inclusion, Engagement, and Advancement) Council and Take Your Child To Work Day. Brennan’s focus and efforts go beyond her internal involvement. She is a board member on the Women Builders Council, where Brennan shares the council’s vision for representing women in the construction industry within several important areas: legislative advocacy, new business development, and professional development with a focus on leadership within the construction industry.

Brennan is a board member of the New York Building Congress and also a board member of the Salvadori Center whose direct mission is to gives students the tools to unlock the math and science embedded in the structures that surround us. The foundation aims to inspire students and teachers to use the wonder, beauty, and logic of our built world as a foundation for learning.

Brennan’s support of career development in the construction industry also extends to mentorship and growth at the High School level through her position as board member of The ACE Mentor Program of America, Inc. (ACE) program. ACE helps mentor high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in design and construction.

Prior to this role, Brennan worked in the field on some of the firms most notable projects including those for higher education such as Brown University’s The Watson Institute for International Studies and The Prudential Center New Jersey Devils Arena.

Brennan earned her Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her Master’s degree from Providence College. Brennan is on the steering committee for the Brown Real Estate Group and a Brown Alumni Leader. Before joining Gilbane, Brennan was a teacher at St. Paul’s School in Cranston, RI and St. Brigid’s School in New York, NY. Brennan lives in New York, NY with her husband and two daughters.
