Haimil Patel is a 2021 Fellow of CBIPS and a graduate student from India currently in the CEEM Department of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science of Columbia University. He is pursuing his Master's Degree with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management and Real Estate, Construction and Finance. Haimil completed his undergraduate program in civil engineering at the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, India. He has primarily been working in commercial and residential building projects with a strong interest in real estate management and finance. He also completed a certification program in Real Estate Management and Housing Finance from the Real Estate Management Institute in Mumbai, India. Haimil has also participated in two international programs to study engineering management and civil engineering in a global context; one of these was in Texas (USA) and the other in Sembilan (Malaysia). In his recent project management internship at the Sampad Group in Ahmedabad, India, he was responsible for the preparation of project timelines and Gantt charts to analyze and understand the practical concepts of construction management. Haimil is highly motivated to pursue his dream of starting his own business doing project management consultancy in India. Currently he serves as board treasurer of the Columbia Engineering Energy Club and intends to conduct research on sustainable construction technologies and green energy sources for construction.
