2021-2022 Fellow: Haimil Patel

Mr. Haimil Patel is a a graduate student at Columbia University pursuing a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Construction Engineering and Management and Real Estate, Construction and Finance. His undergraduate degree, a Bachelor in Civil Engineering was conferred by the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University - now PDEU, located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat (India). Mr. Patel has worked on commercial and residential building projects with a strong interest in real estate management and finance. He also completed a certification program in Real Estate Management and Housing Finance from the Real Estate Management Institute in Mumbai, India. He has also participated in two international programs to study engineering management and civil engineering in a global context; one of these was in Texas (USA) and the other in Sembilan (Malaysia). In his recent project management internship at the Sampad Group in Ahmedabad, India, he was responsible for the preparation of project timelines and Gantt charts to analyze and understand the practical concepts of construction management. Mr. Patel is highly motivated to pursue his dream of starting his own business doing project management consultancy in India. Currently he serves as Board Treasurer of the Columbia Engineering Energy Club. His research as a CBIPS 2021-2022 Fellow is focused on Real Estate. He is participating, as well, in the CBIPS/AECOM Practicum.
