Jihad is a Senior Consultant within AECOM’s Program Cost Consultancy in New York City. His current work encompasses new infrastructure and healthcare projects as well as existing real estate. Jihad co-leads the building of program frameworks based on PMI standards and tailors them to address a Client’s unique requirements, organization and processes. The frameworks materialize the efficiencies of managing interdependent projects under one program and are executed using project management software. In parallel, he also provides as-built construction cost analysis and audit services for corporate real estate assets to realize tax capitalization opportunities for Clients. Currently, Jihad is also the Course Leader for the Construction Project Management certificate course provided by Emeritus Institute of Management which teaches important concepts in managing a construction project such as project planning and project scheduling. The course is aimed at those who want to become project or construction managers. Before relocating to the USA, Jihad served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the PMO of the CCC group in Athens, Greece. In that role, he managed the development of proposals for infrastructure projects and established a strong working relationship with clients, JV partners, and design consultants throughout the Middle East and Europe. In 2010-2011, Jihad directed the mechanical scope for the construction of 7 medical, LEED certified buildings with a built-up area of 1.7M square feet in Riyadh, KSA. In that capacity, he managed a group of 14 subcontractors overseeing 350+ engineers and workers and filled the role of day-to-day consultant liaison for design and construction management progress.
Jihad has a master degree in civil engineering with a concentration in construction engineering and management from Columbia University in the City of New York and a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from The American University of Beirut. He is a certified PMP, LEED AP® BD+C, RMP, and LSS Green Belt.
