Mohammad H. Malik is Chief Operating Officer of M&J Engineering, D.P.C., where he provides executive leadership for complex transportation, infrastructure, and public-space projects across New York and the Northeast. With a career grounded in both field execution and firm-wide strategy, Mr. Malik has played a pivotal role in the delivery and oversight of major capital programs, including the $236+ million Queens Midtown Tunnel rehabilitation and multi-bridge reconstruction initiatives throughout New York State.

As a senior executive in the AEC industry, Mr. Malik is responsible for guiding organizational strategy, advancing operational excellence, strengthening safety and quality culture, and aligning technical delivery with long-term growth. His leadership integrates engineering rigor with real-world implementation—bridging design, construction management, QA/QC, and stakeholder coordination on projects that directly shape urban mobility, resilience, and public infrastructure.

Mr. Malik’s professional impact and civic leadership have been formally recognized across industry and government. He was named a 2025 Emerging Leader Under 30 by Long Island Business News, honored as a Top Chief Officer of Long Island by the Long Island Herald, and received an official Citation from the Nassau County Executive in recognition of his distinguished leadership, professional excellence, and dedicated service to the community.

Committed to mentorship, innovation, and the advancement of resilient infrastructure systems, Mr. Malik actively supports the development of emerging professionals and promotes people-centered approaches to infrastructure delivery. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Hofstra University and is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Design-Build Institute of America, the Construction Management Association of America, and the Society of American Military Engineers.

As an Advisor to Columbia University’s Center for Buildings, Infrastructure, and Public Space, Mr. Malik brings a practitioner’s perspective to interdisciplinary research, policy dialogue, and academic-industry collaboration—contributing insights grounded in large-scale infrastructure delivery, public-agency coordination, and the evolving role of the built environment in shaping equitable and resilient cities.
