Nan Li

Dr. Li serves as Associate Dean at the Department of Construction Management, School of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University and is also the Director of the Institute of Sustainable Urbanization at Tsinghua. Dr. Li’s research focuses on understanding human-built interactions in the context of emergencies and disasters at both building and urban scales, using data-drive and informatics-oriented approaches. 

Dr. Li has authored over 90 academic papers, and currently serves as associate editor of the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering and the ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering, and guest editor or editorial board member of several other leading journals. He is also a licensed engineering (PE) registered in California. Dr. Li graduated from the University of Southern California in 2014, where he received his PhD degree in civil engineering and Masters’ degrees in civil engineering and computer science. Before that he studied at Tsinghua University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in construction management and a dual degree in economics in 2009.
