Vincent Falkowski, PE PMP CCM, was appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Environmental Programs at the Nassau County Department of Public Works in February of 2018. The Environmental Program encompasses all projects for water and wastewater within the confines of Nassau County. The water and wastewater unit is responsible for design and construction for all projects that support clean water and the environment for Nassau County and its neighboring Counties. The environmental program supports wastewater treatment facilities for an average flow of 147.5 million gallons of wastewater through 3,103 miles of collection systems with 57 pump stations. The sewage system in Nassau County is not a combined system such as New York.

Vinny previously was an Executive Director at the NYC Department of Design and Construction serving as portfolio manager of over $2B of design & construction of projects used by NYC’s Uniformed client agencies. These agencies include ACS, Correction, Courts, DEP, DSNY, FDNY, NYCDOT, NYPD, and various tank remediation project throughout the five boroughs of New York City. This role required a seasoned senior executive who is responsible for all aspects of project management and delivery of the portfolio including the recommendations for process improvements to meet the demands and expectations of project quality, schedule, and budget for the City. At DDC, Vinny leveraged the many tools and skills acquired through various work experiences that focuses on engineering, architecture, data analytics, systems improvements, forecasting and data reporting of key performance indicators to fulfill project delivery, process improvements as well as improve the Department’s external perception by the public and the client agencies.

Among his extensive volunteer activities, Vinny currently serves as President of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) New York / New Jersey chapter and had previously been the organization’s membership director. He has also the Vice President of Membership at the national level for the American Society of Plumbing.

Vinny received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Hofstra University, and also studied architecture at the New York Institute of Technology – Old Westbury. He is a licensed professional engineer, is a Certified Construction Manager (CMAA) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
