CYBER SECURITY FOR INFRASTRUCTURE
Smart cities of the 21st Century are those which use discernible data and innovative technology to secure and expand assets, using growth and community development expertise to assure a prosperous future all. Research will center on how to protect and enhance the quality of life that is increasingly enabled and augmented through technological changes in our infrastructure. How do we protect our transportation network when more and more we are using artificial intelligence to control traffic? How do we protect our electrical grid when monitoring is done to a great degree through data analytics? How do we protect our buildings when building management systems are using more sensors located throughout the different spaces? In sum, how do we make sure that our infrastructure is able to provide the expected level of service when others who would like to do harm can get easy access to it because of the increased and prevalent use of technology in infrastructure that used to be physical and not linked to computers?
